"Oh no, I fell for a scam. What now?"

If you've recently signed a transaction that you believe to be a scam, don't panic. Here are a few steps you can take:

First, you just need to identify which type of signature you signed. If you can't remember what did you sign, you can just create new blank wallet, connect it and try to sign again.

Token approval

- Go to Revoke.cash
- Revoke approvals for any tokens you signed for
- Especially if the allowance is to an address like 0x… rather than “Opensea”

Seaport Signature

This will give scammers control your seaport approval and sell your asset to them at $0. Invalidate previous Seaport Signatures as fast as you can.

Option 1
- Go to the Seaport contract on Etherscan
- Click Connect to Web3
- Click "Write" under "incrementCounter" and sign

Option 2
- Visit Harpoon
- Click and sign Button 1 which does the same as above

Generic signature (eth_sign)

example of a dangerous eth_sign transaction

This signature can do almost anything to your wallet if have malicious intent, avoid signing it with unfamiliar website. But if you feel that it's not safe.

- Create a new wallet and transfer your assets there

Otherwise do all the above steps.

Upgrade to

example of a fake/scam "upgrade to" transaction

- Go to Revoke.cash
- Revoke approvals to OpenSea (old) for tokens that you care about

Security update

Unfortunately, in most cases, scammers take ETH immediately and it can be difficult to recover. So, it's unlikely that you will be able to get your ETH back. 😞

That's it. In the end, it's better to have protection before all these happen. I strongly recommend using Pocket Universe extension for your safety. (I didn't get anything to promote their service.)
